What is KT Cares?
KT Cares is a resident-led initiative connecting neighbors through shared purpose. Inspired by the S.P.A.R.K. leadership program, we channel our Time and Talent into projects that give back to San Marcos & Hays County —building bridges, deepening roots, and making a lasting difference together.
Quarterly KT Community Day of Giving
Each quarter, KT Cares announces a new community-driven Day of Giving designed to mobilize residents around a shared goal. These projects offer meaningful ways to contribute time and talent, whether through hands-on service, planning, or support roles. We invite all residents to join us in making a collective impact.

2 Tons for Hays County
- KT Cares is rallying the Kissing Tree community to raise 2 Tons of food donations for the Hays County Food Pantry—a bold goal that reflects our shared commitment to supporting San Marcos families in need.
How to Participate
🗓️ Drop-Off Period: February 1–February 24
📍 Location: The Kissing Tree MIX

Final Collection at the KT Non-Profit & Volunteer Fair
In Addition - We encourage every resident to bring canned goods to the KT Non-Profit & Volunteer Fair to help us reach our goal and demonstrate the power of collective generosity.
What to donate?
• Proteins• Canned tuna, chicken, salmon, or other meats
• Peanut butter (plastic jars preferred)
• Beans (canned or dried)
• Grains & Staples• Rice, pasta, oatmeal, cereal (low sugar preferred)
• Boxed macaroni & cheese
• Shelf-stable tortillas or crackers
• Canned Goods• Vegetables (corn, green beans, peas, carrots)
How can we come together and raise two tons of food?
It's a lofty goal but It's all about Community
Simply stated if a minimum of fifty percent (700) of our homes in Kissing Tree Commit to donating at least 6 pounds of food each, we can exceed our goal of raising two tons for Hays County Food Bank
