Our Mission

Kissing Tree Cares mobilizes the Time and Talent of Kissing Tree residents to strengthen San Marcos and Hays County through sustained, community-driven initiatives. Born from the S.P.A.R.K. leadership program, Kissing Tree Cares fosters long-term engagement and meaningful impact beyond our gates.

What is Kissing Tree Cares?

Kissing Tree Cares is a resident-led initiative connecting neighbors through shared purpose. Inspired by the S.P.A.R.K. leadership program, we channel our time and talent into projects that give back to San Marcos & Hays County —building bridges, deepening roots, and making a lasting difference together.

Quarterly Kissing Tree Community Days of Giving

Each quarter, we will announce a new community-driven Days of Giving designed to mobilize residents around a shared goal. These projects offer meaningful ways to contribute time and talent, whether through hands-on service, planning, or support roles. We invite all residents to join us in making a collective impact.

Kissing Tree Reads Is Back AGAIN!

Kissing Tree Reads at Travis Elementary

On May 4th. thirteen KT residents read to K-3 students at Travis Elementary. The books ranged from science exploration to the exploration of bugs. What didn’t change was the students’ enthusiasm. Our readers were received with excitement and respect, both which were also reflected in the colorful and variety of projects in Travis’ halls. Travis looks like a school we would have wanted to send our kids.

The real proof of the success of Kissing Tree Reads is that both Bonham and Travis have invited us back for next year. As the success of the program gets out, we expect other schools to express interest,

Our goal for the 2025 – 2026 school year is to read at least 5 times. Kids who are excited about reading become readers.

Thanks to all the Kissing Tree residents who read and to Debby Wood and Scott Masini who brought us all together.

Making lifelong readers,

Michael Vivion
